Getting Rid of Cellulite is at the Top of Every Woman's List
By Gal Bishop
Cellulite is every woman's nightmare and usually it becomes a reality. Characterized by pockets of dimply fat sitting on the
thigh or backside, cellulite bears a resemblance to cottage cheese. It can be the result of aging, weight gain, or a side effect of having a
baby. However it forms, it is a fact that the majority of women will experience cellulite at some point in their lives and
their top priority becomes getting rid of it. While getting rid of cellulite completely may not be possible in every case, there are many steps you can take to improve the condition. Cellulite creams, body wraps, liposuction, and
other forms of cosmetic surgery can help keep cellulite from getting worse and even improve the skin.

Women have two basic ways of dealing with cellulite; typically they either ignore it or try anything and everything they can to erase it or
stop additional fat from forming. They often resort to wearing pants in the summertime to hide their cellulite from others. They will rarely wear
bathing suits and if they do, they will wear a wrap at all times. Some women try different creams that are supposed to reduce the appearance of
bumps on the skin. Usually extremely moisturizing, cellulite creams are effective when applied on a regular basis. Cellulite is somewhat
different from other types of body fat in that it resides near the surface of the skin. Often significant improvements can be derived from losing
excess fat although even then some of the dimply skin can remain.
Some women decide to have liposuction, a surgery that involves making an incision in the thigh or other areas where cellulite has become
noticeable. A small tube is inserted which will literally suck the cellulite out of the body. Unfortunately, this procedure often needs to be
performed two or three times in order to get rid of all cellulite. With liposuction, many women feel better about their bodies and will wear
shorts and other clothing that will not hide their thighs and other areas. This procedure can be expensive and will usually need to be repeated
every few years because cellulite will likely return.
Eating properly and exercising will help prevent cellulite. But in many cases, cellulite is hereditary. Even though exercise helps reduce the
amount of cellulite, most women in their lifetime will see the effects of it as part of the aging process. Through cosmetic surgery as well as
less invasive alternatives, the signs of aging can be reduced. If you decide to have cosmetic surgery, find a surgeon based on a recommendation
from a friend or family member and have a consultation to decide on the best procedure for you. It is important to note that liposuction cannot
be performed on everyone who wants it. Those who have dietary deficiencies, high blood pressure, or who have had stokes or heart attacks should
not have any unnecessary surgery. A doctor will be able to tell if you are a good candidate for liposuction.
Because there are so many other treatment options available for cellulite, drastic measures such as surgery are usually not necessary.
Treatments are available at the spa and at home body wraps are becoming readily available and quite popular. It is also wise to investigate the
wide array of anti cellulite creams available and pick one that is a good fit for you. When used in conjunction with a fat loss program, these
surgery alternatives can be very effective.
Even though cellulite is a nuisance, it can be camouflaged by wearing longer shorts and wraps at the beach. Women should not be too concerned
about the appearance of cellulite so long as they are healthy and try to eat properly while getting enough exercise. While getting rid of cellulite is the ultimate goal, keep in mind that it is common and
will not be as noticeable to everyone else as it is to the person who has it.
